​Rootless is an improvised performance about disappearance. Wanling Mo constructs a sensory field
through the body, seeking a common language between music, space and physical states. The body walks, struggles, flows across the sand – lifted by the wind, sucked down by gravity, like bodies in transit that cannot stop, that struggle to put down roots. The spirals are traces of life, the lament echoing from a shell, then a giant wave sweeps everything away. Finally, a broom sweeps away these totems of life with a mechanical, clean gesture, as if no one had ever been there.
